Premiere of the film "STRUGA" . It tells the story of Polish Jews.
We invite you to the premiere screening of the film STRUGA, dedicated to the fate of Polish Jews.
STRUGA is a film based on the poems of Roman Chojnacki – a poet and prose writer born in Leszno. The authors were inspired by the poetry volume "Struga", published in 2024 as a bilingual collection (Polish-Hebrew), dealing with the memory of Polish Jews and their experiences. The film evocatively combines poetic words with images, creating a moving story about identity, memory, and the responsibility of the contemporary world towards the past. The event is particularly significant because the show will take place in the former synagogue, which emphasizes its symbolic nature.
The film lasts nearly 30 minutes. The shooting took place in the summer and autumn of 2025 in Leszno, Poznań and Chełmno nad Nerem – places strongly marked by history and memory, constituting an important background for poetic narration.
The film was produced by Leszno Television. The production was based on a script by Roman Chojnacki, in collaboration with the Miasteczko Poznań Association. The poems are read in Hebrew by Jasza Wardak, and their translations from Polish are provided by Orit Zehavi. The film was financed by the Wielkopolska Voivodeship Government.
