Opening of the archaeological exhibition

On June 10 (Tuesday) at 6:00 p.m. the grand opening of the exhibition "In Search of the Beginnings of Leszno. Archaeological Traces of Early Medieval Settlement in the Town" took place.

During the opening, guests had the opportunity to meet the curator of the exhibition – archaeologist Łukasz Lisiecki – and listen to his stories about the roots of Leszno and the background of the latest archaeological discoveries. It was a unique opportunity to look into the past from a thousand years ago and find out who the first inhabitants of these lands were.

The exhibition presents the results of many years of archaeological research conducted in Leszno in the years 2008–2024. Its heart are unique finds – ceramics, tools and everyday objects – as well as a spectacular discovery from 2024: relics of a stronghold and a settlement at Henrykowska Street.

Thanks to its modern design, including a model of an early medieval stronghold, the exhibition combines historical knowledge with imagination, bringing visitors closer not only to the realities of life in old Leszno, but also to the methods of archaeologists.
