A guided tour of the exhibition about Maria Leszczyńska is available

On January 23, 2026, at 4:00 PM, we invite you to a guided tour of the temporary exhibition dedicated to Maria Leszczyńska, which will be accessible – with interpretation into Polish Sign Language and with deaf and hard-of-hearing people in mind.

The guided tour will be led by the exhibition curator, art historian Małgorzata Gniazdowska. A Polish Sign Language (PJM) interpreter will also be present, allowing for full and comfortable participation by those with hearing impairments.

Let us remind you that the exhibition presents the figure of Maria Leszczyńska – the daughter of the King of Poland Stanisław Leszczyński, the Queen of France and the wife of Louis XV, and at the same time the longest reigning ruler on the French throne, whose reign lasted 43 years. The exhibition tells both the facts of her life and the legend that has grown around her.

The exhibition features portraits of Mary, her parents and her husband, as well as arts and crafts related to the Queen. A separate part was devoted to the presence of Maria Leszczyńska in the popular culture of the nineteenth century – graphics, publications and souvenirs illustrating her image and historical reception were shown.
