Archelogy will soon reign in the Museum

We invite you to the official opening of the exhibition "In search of the beginnings of Leszno. Archaeological traces of early medieval settlement in the town". The event will take place on June 10 (Tuesday) at 6.00 p.m.

During the vernissage, you will be able to meet the curator of the exhibition – archaeologist Łukasz Lisiecki – and listen to stories about the roots of Leszno and the backstage of the latest archaeological discoveries. It is a unique opportunity to look into the past from a thousand years ago and find out who the first inhabitants of these lands were.

The exhibition presents the results of many years of archaeological research conducted in Leszno in the years 2008–2024. At its heart are unique finds – ceramics, tools and everyday objects – as well as a spectacular discovery from 2024: relics of hillfort and a settlement near Henrykowska Street.

Thanks to its modern arrangement, including a model of an early medieval hillfort, the exhibition combines historical knowledge with imagination, bringing visitors closer not only to the realities of life in old Leszno, but also to the methods of work of archaeologists.
