Closing event of the exhibition "What do flowers talk about?"

We invite you to the final meeting at the exhibition "What do flowers talk about?". This will be a unique opportunity to say goodbye to the exhibition and take one last look at the exhibits showing flowers in various forms.

The event features a guided tour by the curator, offering a final opportunity to delve into the secrets of floral symbolism and discover its significance in art and culture. This will be followed by a traditional folk "pająki" making workshop, where participants can explore this classic decorative art form and create their own piece inspired by folk aesthetics.

The event will take place on August 16, 2026, at 4:00 PM at the District Museum in Leszno (31 Gabriela Narutowicza Street). The exhibition "What do flowers talk about?" will remain open to visitors until August 23, 2026.

About the exhibition

The exhibition features exhibits from the collection of the District Museum in Leszno, showcasing flowers in various forms. As a source of inspiration for artists, flowers appear in painted landscapes and still lifes. Floral motifs adorn objects of decorative arts. Flowers are equally present in folk aesthetics, rituals, traditions, and folklore. Particular attention is drawn to their connection with womanhood, as well as their role within the recurring cultural motif of vanitas—reflecting on the passage of time, the fleeting nature of beauty and earthly goods, and the inherent fragility of life.
