Colors of Autumn – Workshops for Everyone
What does autumn look like in paintings? What can be discovered on a museum postcard, and what story can a sculpture tell? Why do trees shed their leaves, and why do some animals prepare for winter sleep? You will find the answers to these questions during a unique event that combines art, nature, and creative activities.
On Saturday, October 31, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., the District Museum in Leszno, the Municipal Greenery Department, and the Mini Zoo invite you to a workshop titled "Colors of Autumn." This event is designed for anyone who would like to spend a Saturday morning at a leisurely pace, in an engaging way, while discovering the natural world with greater mindfulness.
We will begin the meeting by looking at autumn as captured in the museum's collections. Paintings, postcards, and even sculptures will serve as a starting point for a conversation about colors, moods, and associations. There will be time for mindful viewing, sharing observations, and discovering that the very same object can evoke completely different emotions in different people. Next, we will move into the world of nature. An animal keeper from the Mini Zoo in Leszno will talk about the extraordinary changes occurring in the plant and animal worlds during autumn. We will learn why trees shed their leaves, how animals prepare for winter and go into hibernation, and why some species become more visible during autumn and winter.
The meeting will conclude with a creative activity. Inspired by the museum exhibits and nature stories, participants will create their own artwork using colorful autumn treasures. This will be an opportunity to combine knowledge with imagination and see for themselves that inspiration for creating art can be found right next to us – in the shapes, textures, and colors of nature. No prior art experience or special skills are needed; the proposed activities will be tailored to the participants' age. We provide all the materials needed to complete the artwork.
This is an event where you can not only gain new knowledge but also practice mindfulness, develop your imagination, and see a well-known season from a completely different perspective. Stop for a moment, look, listen, and create something of your own. See you at the Museum!
