"Cudze chwalicie, swego nie znacie…" 2026 - competition

The competition "Cudze chwalicie, swego nie znacie...", 2026 edition, is intended for primary and high school students. This year's edition is held under the slogan:

"In my city [...] low and very slow clouds float by..." - Leszno in the footsteps of Stanisław Grochowiak

The main theme of this year's edition is the figure of Stanisław Grochowiak – a Polish poet, playwright and publicist, born in Leszno. It was in this city that he spent his early years and took his first steps on the literary path, which makes him an extremely important figure for the local cultural identity of the region. His work, encompassing poetry, prose and drama, was distinguished by its originality, depth of expression and artistic courage. The choice of Grochowiak as the hero of this year's edition of the "You praise others, you don't know your own..." competition aims to familiarize students with the artist associated with our city and encourage them to reflect on the place of Leszno in his life and work.

The competition is organised by the District Museum in Leszno and the 1st Leszczyński Family High School in Leszno. The honorary patronage over the competition was taken by the Polish Historical Society, Leszno branch. Attractive prizes are provided for the winners of the competition in each category.
