Lecture: "Celebrations, balls and concerts in Versailles during the time of Maria Leszczyńska"
During the reign of Maria Leszczyńska, the court at Versailles was not only the center of power but also the site of lavish celebrations, balls, and concerts. It is precisely this colorful dimension of court life that will be the subject of the next meeting accompanying the exhibition on the Queen of France.
During the lecture, the history of the celebrations organized in Versailles in the eighteenth century will be presented. Participants will learn how the birth of royal children was celebrated, under what circumstances balls and concerts were held, and who took part in them.
The meeting will be hosted by Małgorzata Gniazdowska, art historian and curator of the exhibition.
