Leszno of the Leszczyński Family: 2026 City game
On September 25, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, local high school students will hit the streets of Leszno once again to test their knowledge of the city's rich history and the legacy of the Leszczyński family.
For over twenty years, the event has been organized by the District Museum in Leszno and the 1st High School in Leszno. The competition is held under the patronage of the Polish Historical Society – Leszno Branch.
“Leszno of the Leszczyński Family” is not only a knowledge competition but, above all, a history lesson in the city space. Working in teams, the participants will navigate the city streets, searching for answers to the questions in the competition form. Along the game route, they will encounter places connected with the city's history as well as exhibitions of the District Museum in Leszno.
The goal of the competition is to deepen and expand knowledge about the history of Leszno and the Leszczyński family, as well as to build a bond with one's own "local homeland" and develop an awareness of the importance of local cultural heritage. The game also aims to encourage youth to discover the history of their immediate surroundings and notice its connection to the history of Poland and Europe.
We invite 3-member teams of second-year students from Leszno's high schools to participate. Material prizes await the top three teams. The winners will be determined by the number of correct answers and the time taken to complete the route.
