Summer at the Museum

The "Summer at the Museum" offer is a holiday activity for children aged 6-12 that combines fun with discovering art, history and nature. Participants will be able to spend their summer time creatively, develop their imagination, acquire new skills and discover interesting facts from the past.

Class topics:

Tinsels and trinkets
Is jewelry just for decoration? During the summer classes, participants will explore the permanent exhibition, where they will discover jewelry and decorative accessories hidden in paintings and museum display cases. Together, they will discover who wore the old ornaments, what they were used for and what stories they told about their owners. During the classes participants will learn about the symbolism and functions of old "tinsels", as well as learn how jewelry emphasized the status, interests or personality of its owners. At the end everyone will design their own, unique jewelry.

Flower manufactory
The classes will begin with a visit to the museum exhibition, during which we will talk about the symbolism and meaning of plant motifs in art. Together we will discover the richness of colors and forms, as well as the beauty of flowers that have accompanied people for centuries at various stages of life.
In the second part of the meeting, participants will participate in an art workshop during which they will create their own paper bouquets inspired by museum exhibits. The resulting flowers will become a unique decoration and a souvenir from the museum visit.

Ecology in the Museum
Did people live more ecologically in the past than they do today? Participants will discover how nature accompanied people in their daily lives and explore what life was like in a time when plastic and excess waste were unknown. Together we will look at old everyday objects, looking for ecological solutions hidden in the past. During the meeting, we will talk about environmental responsibility, learn the principles of waste segregation and ways to save water and energy. Participants will work in teams to develop mini-projects on how human activity impacts our planet. Finally, they will create their own posters demonstrating how to care for the planet every day.
