The Museum at the Culture Without Barriers Festival
The District Museum in Leszno is once again joining the Culture Without Barriers Festival - an initiative that focuses on promoting cultural accessibility and shaping experiences that meet the needs of diverse audience groups.
As part of this year's edition, we have prepared three free meetings for people with special needs. The program features exhibition tours with Polish Sign Language translation and two sessions dedicated to people with intellectual disabilities. All events will be held at the District Museum in Leszno (31 Gabriela Narutowicza Street).

October 14, 10:00 a.m.
The first meeting is aimed primarily at people with hearing impairments. During the tour, participants will visit the permanent exhibition 'At the Meeting Point of Worlds: The History of Leszno from the 16th to the 20th Century,' as well as a temporary exhibition entitled 'The Community of Gesture 1936–1939: Silver of the National Defense Fund,' which features collections from the National Museum in Poznań. The event will be translated into Polish Sign Language (PJM).
This is an opportunity to jointly explore the city's history and the museum's collections in an accessible format. We invite all interested individuals, particularly those who are deaf or hard of hearing.
Duration: approximately 60 minutes

The next two events have been designed specifically for individuals with intellectual disabilities. Participants will tour the museum exhibitions, learning about the displayed objects and the stories behind them. Following the guided tour, they will be invited to take part in a simple art activity. This activity will relate to the theme of the temporary exhibition entitled 'The Community of Gesture 1936–1939: Silver of the National Defense Fund' and will provide a practical way to reinforce and better understand the concepts introduced during the meeting.
