Thursday Lectures on Fashion and Art, Season 25/26
In the new season, we will return to a series of open lectures in which we will once again look at fashion – its history, changes and role in culture and society.
This time we will focus on great European fashion and its transformations throughout the 19th and 20th centuries. The lectures will show how silhouettes, styles and accessories have changed – from crinolines and corsets, through the years of emancipation and Art Deco, to the street fashion of the 1950s and 1960s and the extravagant styles of the 1970s. They will allow you to discover the fascinating stories behind the fabrics, cuts and trends that shaped the appearance of women and men in the following decades.
