We invite you to a meeting about the book "Podróż obcego z Polski na Śląsk" by Victor Zadik Honorius. The District Museum in Leszno is its co-publisher. This is another meeting aimed at promoting the book, but the first one that takes place in the Leszno Museum.

The District Museum in Leszno invites you to a meeting devoted to the book "Podróż obcego z Polski na Śląsk", which is a translation of Victor Zadik Honorius' travel account from 240 years ago. The townsman from Leszno went to Jemielno to the mineral water centre, famous in the whole German-speaking Europe at that time, to which the Leszno doctor Ernst Jeremias Neifeld contributed. Setting off from Leszno the author of the account visited Góra, Sądel, Lechitów, Wąsosz, describing the towns he visited.

The meeting is part of broader project aimed at popularizing the book and its references to individual aspects of Honorius' journey.
Previous meetings initiated and led by book translators Marcin Błaszkowski and Izabela Warciarek took place in libraries in Leszno, Góra and Wąsosz, and each time focused on different topics.

During the meeting at the Museum we will talk about the travels that could have inspired Victor Zadik Honorius to write the text. An important element of meeting will be Kamila Szymańska's story about the inhabitants of Leszno traveling around Europe in the 17th and 18th centuries. The journey and the account of V. Zadik Honorius, about which we knew nothing until recently, perfectly complements the knowledge about the importance of travel in the history of Leszno.
