Workshop "A Day with Tradition"

The educational workshops "A Day with Tradition" will present various branches of creativity related to the traditional culture of the Greater Poland countryside.

During the "Days with Tradition" there will be meetings at the District Museum in Leszno with artists from the region, people for whom tradition has become a passion and often a way of life. They preserve dying skills to pass them on to future generations. The workshops are an opportunity to encounter the unique, intangible heritage of south - western Greater Poland. They will introduce participants to the world of an ancient village resounding with bagpipe music, singing and dialect, whose inhabitants were characterized by a love of neat aesthetics visible in traditional costumes and decorations.

Meeting with folk culture creators

The bearers of traditional culture leading the workshops will include representatives of three microregions: sculptor Jerzy Sowijak and regionalist Zofia Dragan from Bukówiec Górny, singer and storyteller Anna Chuda, singer Maria Polowczyk and kopczorka Beata Kabała from Biskupizna, as well as representatives of the Hazy/Chazy people - bagpiper Michał Umławski, embroiderer Grażyna Konopka and handicraftswoman Alicja Gniazdowska.
