Another "Izabella" in our collection

We have more reasons to be proud. On 19 May, in Trzcianka, during a ceremonial gala at the Museum of the Notecka Region, the results of the next edition of the "Izabella" competition – the museum award of Greater Poland.

This prestigious distinction is awarded to cultural institutions for exceptional activities in the past year. In this edition, as many as 60 applications were evaluated in six categories: exhibition, educational, scientific and publishing activities, promotional and popularizing, as well as care for cultural heritage and conservation.

We are happy and proud to share the news that our Museum has been awarded three times for its activities in 2024.

Awards and distinctions "Izabella"

  • First prize in the category of Educational Activity
  • Project: "Miasto-Warszawa” w Lesznie? Słodko-kwaśna historia braci Góreckich

Implemented as part of the "Patriotyzm Jutra" program (2024 edition), co-financed by the Polish History Museum in Warsaw. The jury appreciated the project for its multidimensional educational activities in showing the history of the family and the place – a beautiful building of history – the future seat of the museum.

  • Distinction in the category of Scientific and Publishing Activity
  • Publication: Leo Baeck. Ostatni rabin Rzeszy

The publication was created on the basis of an international popular science conference on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of Leo Baeck's birth, organized by our museum. This is the first publication in which selected excerpts from Leo Baeck's texts in Polish were included.


  • Distinction in the category of the Exhibition Activity
  • Exhibition: Prosto z pieca. Wiejska ceramika

The exhibition presented a rich selection of ceramics from the ethnographic collections of the District Museum in Leszno. It was accompanied by an educational program and a catalog entitled "Z pieca i miśnika", showing the beauty of traditional rural ceramics.
