The scientific conference "Economy in the Wschowa region and the Greater Poland-Silesia border. Crafts-trade-industry-agriculture" is behind us
Two days of scientific discussions on the economy in the Wschowa region and the Wielkopolska-Wschowa border are behind us. It was a very inspiring time.
On October 24-25, 2024, the scientific conference "Economy in the Wschowa region and the Wielkopolska-Silesian border. Craftsmanship-trade-industry-agriculture" was held, organized by the Czas A.R.T. association from Wschowa and the District Museum in Leszno. It is worth adding that the initiative of scientific meetings around the heritage of the Wschowa region and the borderland in its area has been going on for 18 years.
This year's event was attended by scientists from academic circles from Białystok, Krakow, Leszno, Poznań, Warsaw, Wrocław and Zielona Góra, as well as museum, archival and regional circles from Głogów, Leszno, Międzyrzecz, Poznań, Śmiełów and Wschowa.
The open deliberations were also attended by high school students – Tomasz Zan High School No. 1 in Wschowa, interested regionalists including representatives of the PTTK branch in Zielona Góra and seniors. The two-day deliberations outlined a rich picture of Wschowa and Leszno crafts, mutual professional relations and the economic development of the region related to its border location. There was no shortage of the latest research on the Wielkopolska specialization, i.e. organic work. The presentations during the second day of the conference proved that the foundation of economic success, but also the development of patriotic attitudes, is primarily human capital, education and communication.
The scientific deliberations were accompanied by an afternoon walk entitled “Wschowa cafes and restaurants yesterday and today”, led by Katarzyna Owoc-Kochańska (A.R.T. Czas Association). In total, almost 100 participants took part in the two days of deliberations.
