Work in the Museum: art conservator

The District Museum in Leszno is looking for a candidate with education: conservator of easel painting and polychrome sculpture for the position of art conservator in the Conservation Studio.
General conditions of employment:
- fixed-term work with the prospect of extension for an indefinite period,
- employment in the amount of 1 full-time job in the equivalent system,
- co-financing of holidays from the Company Social Benefits Fund,
- participation in courses, trainings, conferences, opportunities for further professional development,
- place of work: Leszno.
Responsibilities:
- preventive conservation activities, i.e. ensuring proper conditions for exhibits, determining the needs in the field of exhibition, prevention and methods of protection of exhibits,
- carrying out periodic conservation reviews of the exhibits owned by the Museum,
- conducting conservation works on historic buildings in the field of sculpture, artistic crafts and painting, documenting them and making photographic documentation,
- giving opinions on the conservation aspects of objects submitted for purchase, preparing conservation documentation for objects received from outside, cost estimates and programs for conservation works commissioned externally,
- preparing descriptions of the preservation state of objects taken over by the museum and loaned for exhibitions, and preparing appropriate protocols,
- participation in work related to the implementation of exhibitions, scientific and research activities regarding collections,
- preparing applications for funding for conservation projects,
- preparing annual work plans and activity reports.
Necessary requirements:
- higher education in the field of Conservation of Works of Art, specializing in conservation of easel paintings and polychrome sculptures,
- knowledge of conservation requirements and legal regulations regarding the recording and movement of objects, knowledge of the principles of safety and protection of collections,
- knowledge of new trends in the field of preventive conservation and current trends in museums regarding the storage of collections and exhibitions,
- computer skills: MS Office package,
- ability to operate office equipment,
- full legal capacity and enjoyment of full public rights, no criminal record for an intentional crime prosecuted by public indictment or an intentional fiscal crime.
