Workshops with art

Holidays are a great time that gives you the opportunity to combine discovering history, art or culture with having fun.
The program of our workshops consisted of elements of art history combined with activities developing the imagination and natural curiosity of young people. All this took place in a friendly atmosphere full of joy and smiles.

The project was co-financed by the City of Leszno.
The partner of the project is the Katarzyna Jurga Creative Studio.

About Maria, Queen of France. Court life and the Queen's passions.

During the meeting, the participants had the opportunity to learn about the fascinating figure of Maria Leszczyńska – the daughter of King Stanisław Leszczyński, who became the Queen of France 300 years ago.

Her unusual story became an inspiration for the second part of the classes – art workshops, which took place in Katarzyna Jurga's befriended studio. There, the children, using the relief printing technique, created their own royal seals – the insignia of power.

Rococo, Orient and Greece. An artistic mishmash of the royal court.

The next day, the children moved to the French court from the reign of Queen Maria Leszczyńska to discover the richness of artistic styles of that era – from elegant Rococo, through oriental influences, to fascination with ancient Greece.

In the second part of the class, participants could give free rein to their imagination by decorating ceramic mugs according to their own design. Ready-made works – unique works of applied art – could be taken home by everyone.
